Summer Learning

Children can lose up to two months of essential math and reading skills during the summer months but there is plenty families and caregivers can do to support learning during the summer so your child doesn’t lose the skills they worked so hard to learn in school.
 
All Lackawanna County Libraries are participating in a summer learning program called SummerQuest.  Children and families can use an online/mobile application to log their reading minutes throughout the summer and complete fun themed activities.  Individual libraries throughout Lackawanna County are offering unique prizes for certain milestones.  Families can visit the below web page to learn more about each libraries individual offerings and highlights:

  • Monthly craft bags and coloring contest sheets available for pick up.

Lackawanna County Public Library

  • Frequent Visitor Card Program is offered to each patron.  On your 5th visit, kids can choose a new book, donated by the PPL Foundation, from their display case.
