Whether it’s reading to children, serving as a volunteer income tax preparer for low-income tax clients, delivering meals to homebound seniors or being part of the annual Day of Caring, there are hundreds of ways to roll up your sleeves and make a difference! Contact  Barry Snyder for opportunities that are right for you!

Other Ways to Get Involved

Each year, we rely on hundreds of volunteers to assist with fund-raising and community impact fund decision making. Fundraising volunteers assist during the annual campaign while Community Impact Fund Distribution volunteers serve on committees to make sure those donated dollars are well spent in the community.

In addition, a number of other special committees meet throughout the year to plan such events as the Mike Munchak Charity Golf Classic, and more.

The cornerstone of our volunteer efforts is the annual Day of Caring which mobilizes hundreds of people throughout Lackawanna, Wayne and Pike Counties to work first-hand with the United Way and our network of partner agencies to make a difference! The annual Youth Day of Caring mobilizes area students in grades 7-12 in much the same way and will be returning this upcoming year, Spring 2025.
