State Food Purchase Program FY 2024-25

The State Food Purchase Program (SFPP) is a vital initiative funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture that provides critical support to food banks, pantries, and other community organizations. Its primary goal is to ensure that nutritious food is available to Pennsylvanians facing food insecurity. By distributing state funds to local partners, the SFPP helps alleviate hunger and supports the well-being of individuals and families in need.

This program enables food assistance providers to purchase and distribute a variety of nutritious foods, including fresh produce, dairy products, and proteins. The emphasis on local partnerships ensures that resources are directed where they are needed most, strengthening communities and improving access to healthy food options.
Through the SFPP, food assistance programs across Pennsylvania, including those in Lackawanna, Wayne, and Pike counties, can better meet the needs of residents who are experiencing food insecurity.
