Dan Santaniello, CEO of Fidelity Bank, Named Campaign Chair

The United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties is pleased to announce that Dan Santaniello, CEO of Fidelity Bank, has been named chairman of the 2017-18 United Way Campaign which kicked off during the United Way’s Day of Caring on September 7.

“Serving as the United Way Campaign chair is a tremendous honor,” noted Mr. Santaniello.  “The work of the United Way and its agency partners is crucial to tackling some of the most pressing issues facing our community,” he stated.

The United Way campaign runs through November 16. The funds raised will be utilized in support of the United Way’s network of funded agency programs and special initiatives focused on education, financial stability and health to create lasting changes in Lackawanna and Wayne Counties.

"Whether in his professional life or personal voluntary pursuits, Dan is a passionate community leader, dedicated to improving the lives of countless people in our region," noted Gary Drapek, president and CEO of the United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties.

Mr. Santaniello was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Bank in December 2010. From 2001 to December 2010, he has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and head of Retail Banking of Fidelity Bank.

Since his appointment to President and CEO, Fidelity Bank been named “Top 200 Community Banks in the Country” for four consecutive years by the American Banker’s Association as well as the number one community bank brand as measured by a blind market study. Fidelity Bank has also succeeded in earning the rank of number one mortgage lender in Lackawanna County Pennsylvania for six successive years, as noted by peer community bank and HMDA data.  Under Mr. Santaniello’s leadership, Fidelity Bank’s assets have increased 52%. 

Mr. Santaniello is dedicated to both his profession and to many local philanthropic and civic organizations throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania. He proudly serves on the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Association of Bankers and his commitment to his community has been honored by several civic and cultural organizations.

In addition to his chairmanship of the United Way campaign, he currently serves as Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Directors of the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, President of the Board of Directors for the Scranton Cultural Center, 2nd Vice Chairman of the Board of Director’s for Friendship House and Treasurer of the St. Joseph’s Center Foundation Board and Prostate Cancer Awareness Foundation. Mr. Santaniello also sits on the Board of Trustee’s for Marywood University and the Lackawanna Workforce Investment Board. He is a passionate volunteer of his time and talent through fundraising for the Women’s Resource Center, and he serves on his church’s Finance Council at Saint Eulalia’s Parish, Roaring Brook Twp.

Born and raised in Lackawanna County, Mr. Santaniello is a 1990 graduate of Marywood University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He spent six years working in both Philadelphia and New Jersey before relocating back to Northeastern Pennsylvania. Mr. Santaniello, his wife Tina, and their children reside in Roaring Brook Township.
