Pre-K Scholarships

So far this year, 104 scholarships totaling more than $145,000 have been awarded for the 2024/25 school year across four counties in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

The Pre-Kindergarten Scholarship Program, part of Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) initiative, provides financial assistance to families seeking access to quality early education for their children. The program is designed to ease the financial burden of tuition and related costs for pre-kindergarten programs, ensuring more children have the opportunity to build a strong educational foundation.

Funding for this program comes from contributions made by local businesses participating in the EITC program. We as a community are making high-quality early education accessible to those who need it most. By partnering with local organizations, these businesses help directly benefit families in their own communities.

If you are a family seeking assistance or a business looking to make a meaningful impact through EITC contributions, we encourage you to reach out to learn more. This program plays a critical role in supporting children and families while fostering a stronger community for everyone.

As an approved Pre-Kindergarten Scholarship Organization (PKSO) by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (PA DCED), the United Way received tax credits from eligible businesses in the form of Pre-K scholarships to help eligible families send their children to quality early learning centers.
