LIVE UNITED                    2016 United Way Campaign Chair's Message
Campaign ChairJustin DavisThe United Way's 2016-17 Annual Campaign is being led by Justin Davis, CEO of Commonwealth Health Moses Taylor Hospital and Commonwealth Health EMS.

Dear Friend,

We all win when students succeed in school, families are financially stable and people are healthy. With your help, we can change the odds for children, families and our community as a whole.

As we launch this year’s United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties Campaign it is important to recognize that each of us can play an important role in improving the quality of life for all of us. I believe that the best way to make a lasting difference in the health and well-being of our community is through support of our United Way campaign.

When you give to your United Way your gift stays right here in our community helping more than just one person, one family or one charity – it helps build a stronger community for all of us. Collectively we can accomplish so much more working toward long term solutions, not just short term fixes.

Your United Way is focused on results to ensure that your gift will make the greatest difference possible. Education, Income and Health are the building blocks that help create opportunities for a better life and a better community. Following are just a few examples that you helped make possible this past year through your United Way:

  • EDUCATION – more than 13,600 residents took advantage of educational opportunities offered through a varied array of services including day care, day camp, leadership development and guidance programs designed to help prepare them to succeed.

  • INCOME – nearly 25,000 local lives were changed through intervention in times of crisis and personal development guidance so they can become financially independent to lead fulfilled and productive lives.

  • HEALTH – nearly 31,000 people benefited from services to improve their health and general well-being including preventive, counseling, treatment and safety related programming.

I am honored to serve as this year’s Campaign Chairman. Whether you are a first time giver or someone who has supported United Way for many years I can guarantee you that your gift is greatly appreciated. I also serve on the United Way Board of Directors and have seen first-hand the remarkable services made possible by your gift to the annual campaign.

Please consider making your commitment now! Together, UNITED, we can inspire hope and create opportunities for a better tomorrow as we help change lives and build stronger communities in Lackawanna and Wayne Counties.

Thank you in advance for your commitment and support!

Sincerely

Justin M. Davis, FACHE
